Outback Bike Tour
After a car transfer for you and your bike you reach the edge of the huge inland desert of Oman.
Here the desert landscape meets the last smaller mountains and the erosion of wind and sand has created an amazing landscape called Ras Al Jabal which translates into something like 'Mountain Heads'.
This area is only sparsely populated and you will for sure meet more camels than people on your day on the bike through the outback of Oman. Like everything out here the trails are wide and flat but the accumulated sand can make cycling sometimes tricky and strenuous.
As a reward you will experience this fascinating landscape not many other people have ever visited at all in the most immediate way on a bicycle in total silence. The support vehicle will never be far away to supply us with food and water as the next foodstuff shop is some 30 km away! Like this we also take our lunch break after 17 km of cycling inside this wide wadi landscape near a camel farm in the middle of nowhere.
In the afternoon another 20 km on the bike through this great landscape takes us to a small village and paved road again. From there we have the option to go straight back by car to Al Hamra again or cycle another 25 km. Just as you like it!
